School Counseling

Support That Grows with Every Student

At GTCHS, counseling is a steady, thoughtful presence throughout a student’s high school experience. From the first schedule to the final transcript, our counselors help students connect the dots between who they are and who they’re becoming. Whether charting a path to a four-year university, weighing college courses, or envisioning a future career, students gain more than answers—they gain partners in the process.

What We Do

  • Academic Planning
We help students build strong, personalized academic schedules that align with graduation requirements and long-term goals, especially as they navigate dual enrollment and mastery-based learning.
  • College & Career Readiness
Through one-on-one advising, IGP (Individual Graduation Plan) conferences, career assessments, and field-based experiences, we ensure each student graduates with a plan and the skills to execute it.
  • Personal & Social Support
High school can be challenging. We support the whole student through social-emotional guidance, conflict resolution, time management strategies, and connection to additional resources when needed.

Family Partnership
We believe in collaboration. From IGP conferences to parent check-ins and FAFSA workshops, we equip families to be active partners in their students’ success.

Our Mission

The GTCHS Counseling Department is committed to delivering a comprehensive and developmental program that supports the academic, personal, social, and career needs of every student. We aim to equip students with the skills and confidence to make informed decisions, overcome challenges, and thrive in life after high school.
