Middle College Program

What Is the Middle College Program?

Earn College Credit. Accelerate What’s Next.

The Middle College model at GTCHS gives students the opportunity to take real college courses while completing high school, right on the campus of Greenville Technical College.

Through our dual enrollment partnership with GTC, students in grades 10–12 earn college credits that count toward both their high school diploma and future degree. This experience is a launchpad for college readiness and career opportunities, giving them a head start for life after graduation.

GTCHS is one of the few schools in the state where students learn in a true college environment, supported by high school faculty, counselors, and a strong advisory program.

Why Should I Take College Courses in High School?

It’s your chance to get ahead academically, financially, and personally.

Whether your goal is to transfer to a four-year university or enter a career field after high school, dual enrollment gives you an edge. You’ll challenge yourself with college-level coursework, learn to manage your time and responsibilities, and graduate ahead.

What Makes GTCHS Different from Other Dual Enrollment Programs?

Here, dual enrollment is the model.

Our students don’t just take one or two college classes in their senior year. They learn how to be college students beginning in 10th grade, surrounded by the support of a high school team that knows how to help them grow.

To remove financial barriers, we cover 60% of tuition and 100% of textbook costs.

Advancing Our Students Academically

Our model aligns high school and college curricula through a true dual enrollment experience, not just AP classes or exam-based credit. GTCHS follows a mastery-based learning model, requiring students to earn a minimum grade of 75 to receive credit for both high school and college courses.
